FIFA rules, however, prohibit teams from wearing their own captain’s armband designs during the World Cup, and require the use of those provided by an international organization governing body. In turn, the captain of the Polish national team, Robert Lewandowski, will take to Qatar an armband in the color of the Ukrainian flag. Thus, he will be the symbolic captain of Ukraine, which was attacked by Russia in February.
