A reader contacted us: – I am 61 years old. In February 2021, when I turned 60, I retired. I’m an accountant, so I’ve been willing to make extra money on a contract basis since I retired. I read with interest in “Pomorska” a report from the on-call duty with a ZUS expert. It addressed the issue of recalculating old-age pension based on new life expectancy tables. Can I apply to ZUS for recalculation of my benefit due to the fact that I earn extra money and pay contributions? Is it better to do it now or wait until April for new plates?

Grażyna Mucha from the Department of Coordination of Retirement and Disability Benefits, ZUS Branch in Bydgoszcz, replies that because our reader remains employed and the pension contribution is deducted from her salary, she has the right to apply for adding contributions. He may do so not earlier than after the end of the calendar year or after termination of employment.
