“Everybody in the world knows how the Kremlin uses the pauses in the war to continue it with renewed vigor. But to end the war faster, something else is needed. It is necessary that the citizens of Russia find the courage to free themselves from the shameful fear of one man in the Kremlin for at least 36 hours during the Christmas period, the Ukrainian president said.

Zelensky stressed that Ukraine wanted lasting peace and had made such proposals in the past.
— One more thing I want to remind the citizens of Russia today. On November 15, the Ukrainian peace formula was presented. One of its provisions provides for the withdrawal of Russian occupation troops from our territory. This is a guaranteed and reliable way to stop fire, casualties and war in general,” Zelensky stressed.
On that day, the number of Russian soldiers killed was 82,000. Several days later, on December 12, Russia received a proposal to start implementing the peace formula by withdrawing the occupying forces exactly on Christmas Day. On that day, the number of Russian soldiers killed increased to almost 95,000.
“Both of our proposals have apparently not been listened to by the leaders of your country. They are, as you can see, deep and inaudible,” Zelensky said about Ukrainian efforts in recent weeks, to which Moscow was deaf.
He added that “currently Russia has already lost almost 110,000 of its soldiers killed in this war.”
The Ukrainian leader questioned the sincere intentions of the Russian regime.
“Those who continued to terrorize our country and sent all these people to slaughter, rejecting our offers to stop Russian aggression, most certainly do not value life, much less seek peace,” he said.
“Even when your missiles and drones are not raining down on our cities, the terror in the occupied territories continues. You do not give the Ukrainians a moment’s respite. People are abused, electrocuted, raped. This continues every day as long as your soldiers are on our soil,” Zelensky said.
The President of Ukraine has clearly indicated when a lasting peace will come.
“The war will end when your soldiers either leave or we drive them out,” the Ukrainian president said, noting that he meant withdrawing beyond the borders of the 1991 Ukrainian state.
