A small, single-engine plane crashed on a road in Hanna City, Illinois, on Saturday afternoon. There were two people on board – a man and a woman. They both died. An investigation into the causes of the crash has been initiated.
According to witnesses who saw the crash, the plane had problems in the air and tried to land on the road. While descending, it crashed into several buildings and then crashed on a street off Highway 16 in Hanna City, about 270 miles south of Chicago.
Before the crash, the Mooney M20 pilot reported a problem with the engine, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. “The pilot heroically maneuvered between vehicles on the route” before hitting the ground, the press release said.

According to information provided by authorities, there was a woman on the plane who died on the spot, as well as a man. It was pulled from the wreckage by rescuers.
