On the night of Saturday to Sunday in An explosion occurred at a defense ministry factory in the Iranian city of Isfahan. “One of the drones was knocked down by air defenses, and the other two fell into defensive traps and exploded. Fortunately, this failed attack caused no fatalities, there is only minor damage to the roof of the workshop,” the ministry said in a statement released by the state news agency IRNA.

In July last year Iranian authorities said on Wednesday that a sabotage group composed of Kurdish fighters working for Israel had been arrested as they planned to blow up a “sensitive” defense industrial center in Isfahan.
Iran has several nuclear research facilities in the region, including a uranium conversion facility.
There have been many explosions and fires around Iran’s military, nuclear and industrial facilities over the past few years. Explosions have sometimes been a source of concern amid tensions over Iran’s nuclear program, against which Israel has repeatedly announced military action.
A few hours after the incident, the adviser to the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolak, referred to the situation. He tweeted that Ukraine had warned Tehran.
“The logic of war is inexorable and murderous. It weighs heavily on aggressors and accomplices. Panic in Russia – endless mobilization, missile defense in Moscow, trenches 1,000 km away, shelters prepared. Explosive night in Iran – drone and missile production, oil refineries. Ukraine warned,” wrote Podolak and attached a screenshot with a fragment of the entry from December 2022.
In an entry from a few weeks ago, Mykhailo Podolyak states that “Iran, which plans to increase the number of weapons for Russia, humiliates the institution of international sanctions.”
“It is important to abandon the concept of ‘ineffective sanctions’, ‘ineffective UN resolutions’, and move on to more destructive tools – destroying production plants and arresting suppliers,” Zelensky’s adviser wrote in December.
