Ukraine – Russia. The Russians are preparing for street fights, building fortifications. Berdyansk and Melitopol

The Russians are “preparing for an offensive of forces Ukraine in the direction of Zaporozhye”. – They are trying to create additional lines of defense (…). They consider the possibility of street fighting as a factor that will stop the progress of Ukraine’s armed forces – said Ukrainian military commentator Dmytro Snehirjov, quoted by the Suspilne portal. He pointed out that engineering facilities are being built inside the occupied cities – Berdyansk and Melitopol.

According to Snehirjov, Russian soldiers are building fortifications around the airport in Berdyansk. As he said, they are digging trenches there and preparing positions for fighting.

Melitopol authorities, which are loyal to Kiev, also report about fortifications in this area. Mayor Ivan Fedorov, quoted by the UNIAN agency, said that “the fortifications are already around Melitopol, on the sides of Berdyansk, Vasylivka and Kherson region.”

Berdyansk and Melitopol are located in the southern part of the Zaporizhia Oblast.
