Ukraine. Oleksiy Danilov, head of the Security Council: Putin needs a “Ukrainian Stalingrad”, there will be a propaganda campaign before the offensive
Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of Ukraine’s Security and Defense Council, stated that the first sign that Russia is preparing for an offensive is, according to its tactics, a propaganda campaign. He stated that “before the tanks start firing, poisonous information gases will be in motion.” He added that “in order to achieve his goals, Putin wants to inflict a huge strategic defeat on Ukraine with huge losses.”
Oleksiy Danilov, secretary Ukrainian The Security and Defense Council, in a commentary published on the Ukrainian Pravda website, wrote what, in his opinion, may be the first sign that Russia prepares for the offensive.
“Before the tanks start firing, poisonous information gases will be set in motion, consisting of lies, manipulation, fake news and disinformation, activation of information front agents,” Danilov said.
“When someone starts talking about the immeasurable number of mobilized super-trained and armed to the teeth, the most modern military equipment, the latest generations of missiles that will destroy decision-making centers, new projects, an army of drones and that ‘now Putin is starting to fight for real’ and that’s why the Ukrainian army will not has no chance – know that it is the enemy who works through his various anonymous channels and his agents of influence,” writes Danilov.
According to Danilov, the Russian authorities did not give up their maximum goal in the war with Ukraine – the destruction of this country. “Moscow wants to completely destroy Ukraine itself as a historical phenomenon – language, history, culture, carriers of Ukrainian identity. Total and absolute genocide. Total war for destruction,” believes Danilov.
The maximum goal currently pursued by the Russian military leadership is a breakthrough in the operational directions in the south, in the Donetsk region (by occupying it in its entirety), capturing Kiev, which remains “the main dream of Putin’s fantasies”, and cutting off the supply lines of the Ukrainian troops.
Danilov: Putin needs Ukrainian Stalingrad
Danilov, in a commentary for Ukrainian Pravda, also stated that Putin needs “Ukrainian Stalingrad, or at least a large-scale repetition of Debaltseve-2 (in Donbasswhere in 2015 pro-Russian and Russian forces surrounded the defending Ukrainian troops, inflicting huge losses on them and eventually forcing them to withdraw).
“To achieve his goals, Putin wants to inflict a huge strategic defeat on Ukraine with huge losses,” Danilov wrote. He added that “Putin wants a knockout, but there have been many such Putins in our history.”
He also wrote about “a man who lives in images from the past, in which avalanches of bombers obliterate towns and villages minute by minute, columns of tanks break fronts and encircle armies, and iron ranks of blue-eyed supermen from the “nation of winners'”.
