Ukraine Intelligence: In Chechnya, they form four battalions for war

The authorities of Chechnya, which is part of the Russian Federation, are forming four battalions of soldiers for the war with Ukraine, informed the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (HUR).

Most of the conscripted into branches are young people from the countryside, kidnapped by the subordinate structures of the leader Chechnya to Ramzan Kadyrov. They are forced to sign contracts with the military by torture or criminal liability on the basis of fabricated charges.

Kidnapping young Chechens in order to send them to war causes a wave of discontent among the inhabitants of the republic, who are outraged that Kadyrov sends Muslims to someone else’s war between two Christian nations. “In their opinion, this is a betrayal of Muslims,” says HUR.

Ukrainian intelligence also reports that the Russian authorities are carrying out agitation and war recruitment among the citizens of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan staying in Russia. This phenomenon is particularly intense in Moscow and its vicinity, where many people from these countries work. The authorities tempt Asian migrants with high wages and the granting of Russian citizenship.

The Uzbek authorities issued a communiqué on August 10, in which they inform citizens that joining the ranks of the Russian army in order to fight Ukraine is punishable by 10 years’ imprisonment.
