American actor Sean Penn has visited for the third time since the beginning of the Russian invasion Ukraine. During the meeting with the President of Ukraine, he presented him with his statuette An Oscar. – If you win, you will bring him to Malibu – said the actor, handing the statuette to Volodymyr Zelensky.
“This time our meeting was special. Sean brought his Oscar statuette as a symbol of faith in the victory of our country. He will remain in Ukraine until the end of the war” – Zelenskiy wrote in Telegram, publishing the recording of the meeting.
The Ukrainian president honored the actor with the Order of Merit of the 3rd degree, thanking him for “sincere support and significant contribution to the popularization of Ukraine in the world”.
Sean Penn supports Ukraine
Penn was in Ukraine on the day the Russian invasion began on February 24, then in Kiev for shooting for his film. As Zelenski informed, this is already the actor’s third visit to this country in more than eight months of the war.
