Despite the fact that now beauty contests are slowly falling into oblivion and more and more often talk about body positivity and not judging a woman only in terms of appearance, at one time miss elections became a ticket even to an international career. The Miss Crown opened the door to show business for many women who we can watch on TV to this day. This was not always the case, however.

Aneta Kręglicka – Miss Polonia 1989

Aneta Kręglicka needs no introduction. In her case, winning the title Miss Polonia 1989 became a passport not only to a career in Poland, but also abroad. In the same year, the Polish woman won the Miss World competition and began her modeling career overseas. In the years 1990-1991 she worked in the United States for the prestigious Wilhelmina agency. When she returned to Poland, she opened her own PR agency. Currently, she focuses mainly on business, but she can also be found in Warsaw showrooms.

Ewa Wachowicz – Miss Polonia 1992

Ewa Wachowicz same as Aneta Krêglicka is still very popular. She won the Miss Polonia title in 1992, but she did not manage to win in the Miss World competition. She took fourth place then. A year later, she began her career not in modeling, but in television. She made her debut as a Polsat presenter. Soon after, she became the spokeswoman for the government of Waldemar Pawlak, but her political career lasted only two years. She returned to television, where she appeared, among others in program “Dancing with the Stars“The dance show reminded viewers of her, thanks to which she has been running culinary programs and writing books on this subject for over 15 years.

Agnieszka Zielińska – Miss Polonia 1996

During the Miss Polonia 1996 competition, Agnieszka Zielińska won not only the crown, but also won three complementary titles. She competed in the Miss World 1996 competition, but she did not manage to win the crown at that time. In 1997, she won the title of 1st Runner-Up in Miss Europe and took second place at the 1997 World Miss University election. Interestingly, as well as terrifying, she was kidnapped by the local mafia before participating in the Miss Europe contest in Ukraine. After handing over the crown, she moved away from show business and started working as a notary in Poznań.

Marta Kwiecień – Miss Polonia 1999

Marta Kwiecień did not repeat the international successes of her predecessors. After winning the Miss Polonia 1999 crown, she competed in the Miss World 1999 and World Miss University 2000 competitions, but to no avail. Then she started modeling, but with time her profession changed and she fulfilled herself as a stylist and interior designer. Privately, she married the director of one of the large development companies.

Justyna Bergman – Miss Polonia 2000

In the new millennium, Justyna Bergman won the Miss Polonia crown. The aspiring model tried her hand at the Miss World 2000 and World Miss University 2001 competitions, but failed to achieve success in both competitions. When she returned to Poland after unsuccessful conquests of the world, she gave up her career in show business and joined the real estate industry.

Karolina Gorazada – Miss Polonia 2003

Karolina Gorazada, after becoming Miss Polonia 2003, competed in the Miss World 2003 competition. Top 16 Miss Earth 2004 elections and Miss Europe 2005 Top 12. In the meantime, she studied at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. After graduating from school, she moved to London, where she lives with her husband until now.

Malwina Ratajczak – Miss Polonia 2005

Malwina Ratajczak, after winning the Miss Polonia title, achieved little success also abroad. In 2005, she won the Miss Baltic Sea & Scandinavia 2005 title and competed in the Miss World 2005 and Miss International 2006 elections. After returning to Poland, she appeared in show business for some time. She was the face of, among others the magazine “Avanti”. However, she decided not to pursue a career in the media.

Marzena Cieślik was undoubtedly a favorite not only of the jurors, but also of the audience, which guaranteed her the Miss Polonia 2006 crown. A year after the competition, she gave up show business. The only media incident was a stripped-down session for Playboy magazine.

Angelika Jakubowska – Miss Polonia 2008

Like Marzenia Cieślik, Angelika Jakubowska, after winning the Miss Polonia crown and unsuccessful debut at Miss Universe 2009 she gave up her career in show business. In 2010, she undressed only for “Playboy”. Interestingly, a few years ago she reappeared on the pages of hurdles websites, and that’s because she started dating Doda’s ex-fiancé, Emil Haidar.

In the following years, the Miss Polonia crown was won by, among others, Rozalia Mancewicz, Marcelina Zawadzka, Paulina Krupińska, Izabella Krzan, and Karolina Bielawska. You probably know them very well, because they are still present in the media today, and Karolina Bielawska even won the Miss World competition, which so far has only happened to Aneta Kręglicka.
