Ukrainian forces are consolidating their control over the newly liberated areas in the Kharkiv region in eastern Ukraine. Most of the Russian troops have already withdrawn from the area west of the Oskol River, according to the latest intelligence update of the British ministry.
The way Russian troops withdrew last week before the Ukrainian counter-offensive has been varied. Some units did so in a relatively controlled manner, but some apparently ran away in panic – assessed the ministry.
The fleeing Russians abandoned very valuable equipment that allowed them to wage war based on artillery. These included at least one Zoopark artillery reconnaissance radar and at least one 1V14 artillery command and control vehicle. This shows the disorganization in the retreat of some Russian units and most likely the collapse of command in some places, it was written.
