The Netherlands raises retirement age – Bankier.pl
The government raised retirement age by three months, in 2028 it will be 67 years and 3 months, media informs. In the Netherlands, it is equal to men and women, and the decision to increase was made in connection with the extension of the life expectancy of the inhabitants of the Netherlands.
On Wednesday, the office informed the lower chamber of the Parliament (Tweedde of cameras) on Wednesday. In the Netherlands, unlike in Poland, a decision on retirement age belongs to the office, not legislative power.
The law in the Netherlands also provides that retirement age increases with the increase in life expectancy. As the Dutch Statistical Office (CBS), the inhabitants of the Netherlands who are 65 years old in 2028 informed this week, will still live on average for 21 years, which means that the life expectancy of this group is, for example, by over 1.5 years higher than people over 65 years old in 2021.
Currently, the retirement age in the Netherlands is 66 and 7 months, from 2024 it will be 67 years, and in 2028 it will increase by another three months.
Until 2013, the age of retirement was 65 years and since then he began to gradually grow as increased by the forecast life expectancy, reminds the daily “Financiele Dagblad”.
