The Canal + Sport station decided on a very interesting move. In the match between Widzew Łódź and Legia Warszawa, Bartłomiej Pawłowski played with a microphone plugged in.

Until now, the main referees were running with microphones on the top-league pitches. The “On wiretapping” series created by Canal + Sport has gained great popularity among fans. Fragments of matches conducted by Szymon Marciniak and Paweł Raczkowski on YouTube were watched 4.4 million and 1.5 million times, respectively.

This time Canal + Sport decided to go a step further and pinned the microphone to the footballer. Bartłomiej Pawłowski was the one in the Ekstraklasa match between Widzew Łódź and Legia Warszawa on Friday.

“For the first time in Ekstraklasa, a footballer played hooked up to the microphone. Today, fragments of this experiment in the League + Extra. We want to go to this format strongly, if it succeeds, it will be pure gold. Respect for Bartłomiej Pawłowski for being a pioneer, ”wrote Maciej Klimek, a journalist at Canal +, on Twitter.

Klimek also published a short fragment of the recording.

On Friday, Legia won with Widzew 2: 1 after goals from Matthias Johansson and Bartosz Kapustka.
