“TAURON Polska Energia SA (” Issuer “) informs that on August 13, 2022, it received information from Nowe Jaworzno Grupa TAURON sp. a 910 MW block in Jaworzno (“Block”), the necessity to carry out additional works on the repair of the boiler funnel was identified today, which will result in the shutdown of the Unit until August 29, 2022. “ – we read in the company’s statement.
“In connection with the above, the Issuer estimates that as a result of the Block’s shutdown from August 6 to August 29, 2022, the first degree margin generated by the Block will be lower by approximately PLN 130 million” – it was written further.
Thus, the information from Business Insider Polska is confirmed. As we wrote in this article, citing sources in Tauron, the unit will be shut down by the end of August. – The block can last much longer, even until October – say our sources close to the performer.
Similar conclusions can be drawn from the findings of Onet’s journalists. As Kamil Dziubka wrote on Friday, as a result of an inspection by the Office of Technical Inspection in Nowy Jaworzno, the 910 MW unit will probably be banned from operating. The damage is to be so serious that repairing it will probably take several weeks. In the black scenario, the block will not start again until November.
Tauron reported an “emergency overhaul” of the new unit on August 6. At the beginning, he mentioned the need to repair the slag remover. He postponed the start date of the block four times. According to the last report, the block was to start moving from Saturday to Sunday at night.
Problems with the Jaworzno power plant unit resulted in further dismissals – two vice presidents of Tauron – Artur MichaĆowski and Jerzy Topolski were dismissed.
