Summit talks – What is the goal of Vladimir Putin. Marcin Wrona and Jacek Stawiski comment

On Friday, Vladimir Putin is to conduct a ceremony in the Kremlin of signing the agreement on joining the territories of Ukraine to Russia – the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia oblasts. Jacek Stawiski in “Rozmowy na szycie” on TVN24 GO stressed that the situation is very difficult for Ukraine and the entire West. – Firstly, the presence of even one Ukrainian soldier in the annexed territory may provoke a large-scale Russian reaction. Secondly, Russia can deploy nuclear weapons there and even without using them, it can blackmail that if Ukraine starts military operations, these weapons can be used at least on the battlefield, he explained. According to Stawiski, the Russian propaganda will certainly go further and there will be voices that it is the West that wants to take back the areas where the pseudo-referenda took place. Marcin Wrona remarked that “Putin wants to put the West before a virtually impossible choice, to threaten a war that may directly affect countries outside Ukraine”. – Putin shows that he is able to reach further, doing what happened with the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines. His war is also tightening the loops around Europe’s gas neck, he assessed.
