The Japanese producer and publisher got rid of Western bands and IP, so he can pursue a new project. Square Enix has become one of the 21 “node verifiers” on the Oasys platform, and the corporation is gearing up to create the first games using the technology.
Square Enix has been announcing its commitment to the NFT for several months now. The company, however, not only plans its activities, but begins to implement the project – the producer of the Final Fantasy series has become a “node verifier”, i.e. the corporation’s servers will store a copy of the blockchain and perform various functions to maintain the security of the system.
Square Enix has established cooperation with Oasys for this purpose – a new blockchain is to be launched in 2022, part of which will be a giant from our industry.
The manufacturer also confirmed that intends to explore the possibilities of “using user input in the development of new games on the Oasys blockchain”. In simple terms, Square Enix wants to create productions in which some of the content will be produced by fans.
Yosuke Matsuda, president of Square Enix, announced in January that blockchain technology will be the company’s “main strategic topic” for 2022 and, as you can see, the corporation is implementing its plan in small steps.
