Shocking Findings About Putin’s Soldiers. They call it “relaxation”
After analyzing 30 cases of sexual violence, I noticed signs of consent from Russian commanders for such conduct, said Wayne Jordash, a British lawyer advising Ukrainian prosecutors investigating the aggressor’s war crimes, in an interview with “NYT”.
In practice, it looks like this: commanders tell soldiers to, for example, “allow yourself to relax a bit.” We also noticed a clear pattern in the behavior of invading troops entering an area. Ground forces enter the town, and then, on the second or third day of the occupation, rapes begin, said Iryna Didenko, head of the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office responsible for investigating sexual crimes.

The “NYT” report presents many drastic cases of Russian crimes in the conquered areas of the neighboring country. As it was emphasized, the October report of the UN Human Rights Commission recorded sexual crimes committed by the aggressor’s soldiers against both people over 80 and four-year-old children. More than a dozen cases of gang rapes, forcing family members to watch sexual violence against their loved ones, and rapes of people arrested by the Russians have been confirmed.
We have initiated 154 criminal cases regarding sexual violence, but the actual number of such crimes is much, much higher, Didenko stressed.
With the liberation of successive territories of Ukraine from Russian occupation, we note an increasing number of rapes committed by soldiers of the aggressor; the victims of these crimes are people of very different ages, regardless of gender, Ukrainian Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin announced in early December in an interview with German and French media.
Reports of rapes committed by Russians in Ukraine have been appearing since February 24, the beginning of the Kremlin’s invasion of the neighboring country. In mid-December, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office reported that only in the areas liberated from Russian occupation in the western part of the Kherson region, 64 cases of sexual crimes have so far been recorded – more than in all other regions previously controlled by the invader’s forces.
