After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine Grzegorz Krychowiak decided to leave Krasnodar, but could only do so on loan, so he only moved to AEK Athens for a few months. After this period, the situation did not change significantly, so the Pole again had to look for a new place. Ultimately, he opted for the Saudi Arabian Al-Shabab.

Now, in an interview with the local media, he admitted that he still has good contact with Krychowiak, but does not understand his decisions. – We talk normally, this is my friend. We played together in Lokomotiv, the national team, and the youth team. I support him and he supports me. I didn’t ask why he went to Saudi Arabia. He probably had options from Europe, but chose something else. I don’t really understand it, but I don’t want to talk about it – said the 32-year-old.
Maciej Rybus’s stay in Russia caused a lot of controversy in our country. For this reason, the 32-year-old does not get appointments to the Polish national team and he will not go to the World Cup in Qatar.
