The cause of the tragedy was most likely a rocket launcher shot by one of the guests of the premises. The perpetrator – as reported by the Russian editorial office of the BBC – was probably a 23-year-old soldier who returned from the war in Ukraine.

A fire in the premises of “Poligon” in Kostroma, a city in the west of Russia with a population of about 270,000 inhabitants, it broke out around 2.30 am from Friday to Saturday. 250 people were evacuated from the building, the Meduza portal reported. When the fire broke out, it turned out that there were only three emergency exits in the premises, four others were closed.
