Daniel Ricciardo entered the transfer market a few days ago and is a tasty morsel for some teams. The Australian wants to stay in F1, but he also wants to be in a good team that he can even wait for.
“I am looking at it all and I find it wet to walk with my head held high in terms of my efforts and attempts to make it work, to put it all together. Sometimes you just have to accept it – I tried, but it didn’t necessarily work out. I don’t look now and say I was slacking. I am proud of how relentless I have tried. With some things it is sometimes not given to you, ”says Ricciardo.
The Australian says he is motivated and hungry for success.
“This fire, this faith is in me all the time so now it’s just a choice. Do I want to make it. Of course, I don’t have all the options on the grid anymore, I can’t go anywhere I want, ”says Daniel.
“I don’t mean to say it will be easy, but it is something I can do. This is an important moment in my career, but even if certain things are not always visible, there are always bigger or smaller challenges. Nobody has a perfect career so I’ve learned to deal with it over time, ”adds the Australian.
Of course, Daniel announces that he will not change his approach to driving at McLaren in the last 9 races of the season and will continue to give his all.
“This is the only way I can drive and work. Last week I was in the team to see everyone, had a session in the simulator. Today I saw the mechanics we hugged. I know that many people wish me to do well and that they will support me to the end, ”Ricciardo emphasizes.
“As I said, I owe it to myself and to those who support me. There is no better feeling in this sport than success, being on the podium. I know that if I do my best, maybe I can find a way to achieve it in the last 9 races, ”adds Daniel.

According to unofficial reports, the Australian has already been contacted by Williams and Haas, expressing their willingness to hire him for the 2023 season.
Daniel stresses that he is eager to stay in F1, but “in the right circumstances”.
“I want to get back to winning, I want to fight for podiums and victories. It’s the best thing I’ve experienced in Formula 1 over the years. I love the sport and everything that goes with it, but especially at this point in my career, it’s all about winning. One thing that has never changed for me is that I don’t want to be just one of the drivers on the grid, ”says Daniel.
“Having the right conditions, having a good opportunity is something I want to experience. Time will tell if I will have this option, ”he adds.
Ricciardo says he has offers but gives himself time.
“The phone is ringing and that’s always nice. […] However, I do not want to rush anything, make quick and hasty decisions. I’ll try to regroup everything, race and then see what’s best for me. At the same time, I am not hiding anything and I have little to say about it, ”says Daniel.
