Red Road: contract signed on the beltway

On Friday, the contract for preparatory work for the Red Road was officially signed. The document was signed at the Gdynia Chylonia junction next to the Tricity Beltway. Mosty Katowice will receive approximately PLN 8 million for the preparation of the documentation.

The Red Road will be composed of 3 sections, 9 km long

1. Gdynia Chylonia junction – Kwiatkowskiego II junction,
2. Kwiatkowski junction II – Victims of December ’70 junction,
3. Victims of December ’70 junction – Ferry Terminal junction.

We informed about the selection of the contractor for the preparatory documentation for the Red Road several days ago. Nine companies applied. The cheapest offer, amounting to PLN 8 million, was submitted by Mosty Katowice and it will receive the order from GDDKiA.

The selected contractor will have to prepare a program concept for the first episode, and a communication study for the other two.

A contract with the contractor was signed on Friday. The Chylonia junction of the Tricity beltway was chosen as the background, where one of the junctions will be located. The document was signed by: Kinga Gierlachdirector of the department of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways and its deputy Waldemar Chejmanowski and Czesław Poludniokvice president of Mosty Katowice, contractor of the study.

The government they represented Marcin Horałagovernment plenipotentiary for CPK and Grzegorz Witkowskideputy minister of infrastructure.

Red Road: the way of life is important z point strategic

– It is a way of life for the port of Gdynia, for the maritime economy, for the port which brings Poland not only several billion zlotys of tax revenues, not only jobs, not only business, but now we can see how important it is from the strategic point of view of the state – said Marcin Horała.
The documentation is to be ready in spring 2024. After verification and approval by GDDKiA, the documentation necessary to submit an application for an environmental decision will be prepared.

Red Road: design and construction by 2029

Only after it is obtained, the main design works, carried out by the selected contractor, will begin. He will also be responsible for the construction of the route. The Red Road is to be implemented in the “Design and Build” formula. Established by 2029.
