– They gave us absolutely no equipment. The army has nothing, we had to buy all our equipment ourselves – a 23-year-old conscript named Vladimir complained in an interview with “The Guardian”.

According to the report, the new recruits and their families complain that the army has insufficient or insufficient supplies as Russia is struggling with dwindling troops and significant setbacks on the battlefield. Families have become involved in purchasing the items soldiers need, such as thermal underwear and bulletproof vests, but the prices of materials and equipment continue to rise as supplies run out.

Vladimir’s sister posted a phone call on the Russian social network VK, in which he vented his discontent. Insider did not verify this conversation.

– I even had to paint my gun to cover the rust. This is a nightmare (…). Soon they will order us to buy our own grenades – he said, adding that they had received scopes for Airsoft weapons.

Anastasia, a teacher and member of Aid to Soldiers, told The Guardian that it was bad enough that people were being taken.

– We had to spend our monthly salary on equipment for my husband so he would at least have a chance to come back. Honestly, this is completely embarrassing. This is a mess – she added.

Pavel Luzin, an independent Russian military expert, said Russia was simply not prepared to mobilize on this scale. She was doomed to logistical problems.
