PSG beat Juventus 2-1 in the last UEFA Champions League group stage meeting. One of the goals was scored by Kylian Mbappe, who entered the scorers’ list in the 13th minute of the match. As it turned out later, the Frenchman’s hit was of exceptional importance.
For the French, it was the 40th goal in the Champions League. Thus, at the age of 23 years and 316 days, he became the youngest player in the history of the competition to do this trick.
The earlier record belonged to … Leo Messi. The Argentinian scored 40 goals in 24 years and 130 days.
The overall balance of the French in the Champions League looks great. The Frenchman scored 40 goals in 59 matches and recorded 26 assists. His debut took place in September 2016 – then in the game Monaco – Bayer Leverkusen (1-1) appeared on the pitch at the end of the match.
