Project CARS and Project CARS 2 are disappearing from stores. Players have one last chance to buy games

Slightly Mad Studios has published a surprising news. Due to expiring licenses, Project CARS and Project CARS 2 will soon disappear from digital sales, so you have a few more weeks to buy the races.

Slightly Mad Studios was bought by Codemasters, which then acquired Electronic Arts, and apparently the new publisher has no intention of investing any money in the British studio’s older productions. As a result, soon we will not be able to buy two games from the Project CARS series.

Project CARS 2 will be available for sale until September 21, and Project CARS until October 3. Developers confirmed that expiring licenses for cars and routes are the problem.

The games will still be fully playable and Slightly Mad Studios is not going to shut down the servers, but we simply won’t be able to reach for the digital versions of both races.

“Update from the Slightly Mad team on #ProjectCARS and # ProjectCARS2.”

Project CARS 3 hit the market in 2020 and at least currently the production is safe, and it is worth remembering that Slightly Mad Studios wants to develop the series and the developers are expected to work on Project CARS 4 for several years. The title was revealed in 2020.
