OFFICIAL: From a refugee to a Newcastle United footballer

Newcastle United issued an announcement about the contracting of Garang Kuol.

The presented player, who just turned 18, was included in the ranks of “Magpie” with a view to the future. It is worth noting that the character, learning as an attacker, will come to the northern region of England in January 2023.

Either way, Newcastle prematurely reached an agreement with Kuola’s employer, Central Coast Mariners, on a permanent transfer. The amount of the transaction and the length of the contract have not been disclosed.

– I feel like in a dream. As a young boy from Australia, I remember that the Premier League is a league that everyone watches. At the time, however, no one thought that it would grow to such a size. Being one of those who found themselves on this course is something amazing for me – Kuol confessed after the deal.

– I want to train hard now, play at full capacity. I hope to come back soon, to come back to Australia and go with the national team to the World Cup – he added.

Kuol had the honor of making his national debut on September 25, coming from the bench in the 73rd minute for a friendly match against New Zealand.

Several other clubs of similar or higher reputation applied for a promising striker. It was Newcastle, however, who beat them all. The results of the medical tests were successful and the teenager had no hesitation in engaging with the growing power in the British Isles.

He was born in Egypt, where his family fled Sudan before the civil war that lasted there from 1983 to 2005 and left the people of that country in dire poverty, not to mention the lack of any security.

Garang’s parents decided to go to Australia from Egypt for a better future a year later, thus they first visited Sydney.

He first received his football education at the little Goulburn Valley Suns, but was spotted by Central Coast Mariners in 2021. He also made his first-team debut as a seventeen-year-old in no time.

In the first team, 175 centimeters tall, the player has so far recorded ten appearances, with four hits and an assist. Each time he checked in as a substitute.

Sports talent is a chance for a better future for the entire Sudanese family – apart from Garang, Alou, now 21, also plays at a high level, but so far he has not managed to break into the first team of VfB Stuttgart, so he has performances in the reserves.
