Moldovan President Maia Sandu asked the country’s security services to launch an investigation into the organization of pro-Russian concerts with children in her country. She stated that the Kremlin’s propaganda activities pose a threat to Moldova’s security.
Maya Sandu, speaking about the investigation into the organization of pro-Russian concerts, admitted that she suspected that “these events took place with the consent of local governments.” “Our services should determine how much of a threat to our country’s security such events pose,” she said in an interview with TVR Moldova.
The president reported that according to those reaching the authorities Moldova information, concerts inspired by the embassy have recently been held in several towns in the northern part of the country, including the municipality of Balti Russia. During them, children dressed in Soviet uniforms performed songs in Russian about “the need to defend the homeland”, the USSR, she described.
Sandu pointed out that due to the threat arising from the Russian invasion of Ukraine in Moldova, action is now needed to combat the disinformation and propaganda spread by Moscow.
In the president’s opinion, the Moldovan services should also actively act against Russian spies who entered Moldova on the basis of diplomatic passports to act against this country.
She added that Moscow’s “influence agents” should also include deputies of the Moldovan parliament who “openly support the war and Russia’s aggressive policy, including its military actions.”
