Moldova. Security services: protests in Chisinau serve to destabilize the situation in the country by the Kremlin, we will frustrate them

According to the Moldovan authorities, the protests taking place in the country are inspired by the Kremlin. The head of the country’s interior ministry said that “their stake is the overthrow of our constitutional order and the establishment of Moscow’s power in Chisinau.”

Minister of the Interior Moldova Ana Revenco and the country’s head of intelligence services, Alexandru Musteata, announced on Monday that the protests in Chisinau were inspired by the Kremlin and were destabilizing the situation in their country.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs explained that the demonstrations that have been regularly held in the capital of Moldova since September are inspired by Russia. “Their stake is the overthrow of our constitutional order and the establishment of Moscow’s power in Chisinau,” said Revenco, assuring that the Moldovan authorities would frustrate these actions.

A similar opinion was also expressed in the media by Musteata, director of the Moldovan Information and Security Service (SIS). He stated that although citizens had the right to participate in demonstrations, the services would not allow their escalation.

“There has been a shift in the behavior of demonstrators recently, going from peaceful protests to demonstrations using dangerous objects,” Musteata said. “SIS will take all measures together with the police to prevent this from happening,” he added.

The head of the Moldovan Information and Security Service emphasized that the information from Moldovan services showed that attempts to destabilize the country were related to Russia’s war in Ukraine.
