Lewandowski with the weakest year in a long time. The fewest number of goals scored by a Pole since Borussia Dortmund

2022 was a time of big changes for Robert Lewandowski. However, the Pole recorded the weakest result in a very long time when it comes to goals scored. He hit the net more than 40 times, but between 2015 and 2021 he was more effective each time.

“Lewy” decided to change his surroundings in the summer. After many years, he decided to look for new challenges and leave Bayern Munich, where he became a real world-class star.

His start at FC Barcelona was very good. The Pole is the top scorer in La Liga, but he has recently lowered his tone. He has not scored in the three previous league matches.

Overall, 2022 was a weaker year for the striker than any he spent fully at Bayern Munich. In total, taking into account both clubs and the Polish national team, “Lewy” scored 42 times.

This is a result that is very impressive, but at the same time the weakest in many years. Lewandowski’s achievements include 20 goals for Bayern, 18 for Barcelona and four for the national team.

To find a striker with a weaker result, you have to go back to 2014, when the Pole changed Borussia Dortmund to Bayern. At that time, he defeated rival goalkeepers 27 times.

In the years 2015-2021, however, it recorded a better result each time than in the last 12 months. He broke a private record in 2021, when he entered the list of scorers 69 times.
