Jorginho closer to clarifying the future | transfers.info
Jorginho will not renew his Chelsea contract, which expires in the summer, according to The Athletic.
The Italian representative has been linked with leaving the ranks of “The Blues” for some time and there are many indications that this moment will come with the end of the current season, when his contract with the team from Stamford Bridge will also expire.
The media has been pointing to this development for several months now. Recently, however, a small light appeared at the end of the tunnel, giving hope that the 31-year-old player will work out a thread of understanding with the Chelsea authorities, which was supposed to bring him closer to the meeting with the club’s management before Christmas.
However, “The Athletic” indicates that there was no breakthrough in his course and therefore there are still many indications that Jorginho will leave the London club on a free transfer.
At present, it is difficult to predict where the experienced midfielder would continue his career. There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks that he could go to Barcelona or Juventus. The first of these teams, however, has its eye on other players, while the latter face serious administrative problems, which may even cost them demotion to Serie B.
The Italian joined the Blues in the summer of 2018 from Napoli for a combined fee of €57 million.
He has made 19 appearances this season, scoring three goals.
