“I’m surprised no one caught him sooner.” Franciszek Smuda was impressed by the young staff

Franciszek Smuda assessed the Polish national team several days before the start of the world championship. The former coach admitted that he was impressed by Jakub Kiwior.

The Poles will play their first match at the World Cup on November 22. Their rival will be the Mexican national team. In the group, our team will also play against Saudi Arabia and Argentina.

Smuda does not know what to expect from the Polish national team. In his opinion, circumstances such as the climate in Qatar will also affect the results.

– It will not be an easy championship. If we start inflating this balloon, it could end up badly again – Smuda assessed in an interview with “Sport.pl”.

– We have a really nice team, a good team, but this event will be one big unknown. For everyone, but above all for us Europeans, because we are not used to playing in such a climate the former selector noted.

Smuda emphasizes that the core of the representation has not changed for years. There are many talented players around the team leaders – for example Robert Lewandowski and Wojciech Szczęsny. For example, Jakub Kiwior.

– Just as I am so impressed with Kiwior’s skill, I am also amazed that no one caught him before. You can see immediately that this is a great talent. But there are more of them in this team. They can now be exchanged further, but maybe that’s enough. At least for now, but until December. I’d rather praise them then than now. We better wait – emphasizes Smuda.
