How much does Orlen earn on each liter of fuel? Colossal earnings and a huge difference compared to last year
An extremely interesting chart was prepared and published by an expert of the Civic Institute, according to which Poland has one of the highest fuel prices in Europe even before adding VAT.
An extremely proud slogan that informed drivers that Poland has one of the cheapest fuels in Europe was refuted by Andrzej Domański, who presented interesting information using data published by the European Commission. The economist showed that in fact last year petrol prices were among the lowest on the Old Continent, however, the frozen VAT tax and many promotions introduced by Orlen meant that currently only Spain and Denmark are ahead of us in this ranking.
A year ago, the price of a liter of 95 petrol without taxes and fees was one of the lowest in Europe. Today, after the VAT reduction financed by our taxes and Orlen’s “promotions”, we are in the “top” 👇. Data from the European Commission. pic.twitter.com/lHp4jzCshW

In 2021, Orlen earned PLN 0.33 on each liter of fuel sold. However, the expert calculated that in the third quarter of 2022 this amount increased to as much as 86 groszy. Let’s not forget that the price of a barrel of oil is currently at almost the same level as in December 2021. Let us recall, however, that the Sejm passed the Excise Duty Act and the lower VAT will be in force until the end of June 2023.
