Horizon – Marshall Plan for Ukraine. What would that mean?
“Marshall Plan” for Ukraine. How can you imagine implementing something similar to a plan to rebuild Europe after World War II, when a large part of Ukraine is still bombed by Russia and there are no prospects for Moscow to end its aggression? Jacek Stawiski talked about this with his guest in the program “Horizon”. – The architecture of this modern “Marshall Plan” is already being prepared and last week’s Berlin conference was one of the stages of preparation for it – said Michał Baranowski, head of the Warsaw office of the German Marshall Fund. He stressed that “this reconstruction must start now in areas that are ready for it, and not, as in the case of the” Marshall Plan “, only two years after the end of the war”. He explained that the main format for discussing the aid strategy will be the G7 format, i.e. meetings of the leaders of the most important, democratic world economies. Michał Baranowski also added that the European Union will be responsible for running the secretariat of this plan and there are first attempts at how much it will cost and how it should work. – The G7 foreign ministers have already met to discuss the current needs of Ukraine in energy matters – he said.
