Henryk Pick was born in Wrocław in 1949. When he was 5, his parents – Paulina and Borys Pick – decided to move to Israel. There Henryk became famous as Svika Pick. In the 70s he was one of the most popular singers. He also made music for various TV productions, and his wife wrote the lyrics. Together, they had three children – a son and two daughters. Sharona and Daniella Pick performed in the band The Pick Sisters, which in 2005 with the song “Hello, Hello” appeared in the Eurovision qualifiers, as well as in the series “Exit” and the Israeli version of “Big Brother” for the stars. From 2018, Daniella Pick is the wife of a popular director Quentin Tarantino.

Henryk Pick divorced his children’s mother in 1995, but he still collaborated with her. He created the song “Diva” with which Dana International won the 1998 Eurovision final. A year later, the musical “Mary Lou” was made, which was based on songs created by Pick. The musician was also the author of other Eurovision hits – he wrote “Light a Candle” for Sarit Hadad representing Israel in 2002 and “Hasta la Vista” in 2003 for Alexander Ponomarov from Ukraine.

In 2004, the musician began dating fashion designer Shira Manor. The couple had two sons, but the relationship did not survive. They parted in May 2021.

In 2005, it was shown on Israeli television reality show about Pick’s life “The Maestro”. A few years later, the musician became a juror of the Israeli edition of “A Star is Born”, and also took part in the “Goalstar” program, in which celebrities created football teams.

In the summer of 2022, Svika Pick was scheduled to go on tour. 1.5 weeks before it was due to start, it was canceled and the tickets were returned to the fans. He died on Sunday, August 14. He was 72 years old.
