Great Britain. Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Russia has no moral right to sit in the G20 group

A spokesman for the British Foreign Office said on Friday that Russia has no moral right to sit on the G20 as it continues its invasion of Ukraine. Indonesia has faced pressure from Western countries to withdraw the invitation sent to President Vladimir Putin.

Indonesia will be the host of this year’s G20 summitwhich will be held in Bali in November. On Friday, an advisor to the Indonesian president said they would attend the summit both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

The Indonesian authorities also invited the president earlier Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, although his country does not belong to the G20.

Indonesia has faced pressure from Western states to withdraw the invitation sent to Putin in connection with his country’s invasion of Ukraine.
