Scholz’s announcement was made by Reuters, citing an anonymous source who participated in an online conference on Ukraine in Toronto.
The agency’s interlocutor said that Germany was planning to provide Ukraine with three more Iris-T air defense systems, 12 technical support vehicles, 20 rocket launchersprecision ammunition and anti-drone systems.
Response to the appeals of Ukraine
The supplies would reach Ukraine in 2023, some of the equipment might be earlier. A Reuters source added that Germany’s parliamentary budget committee has yet to approve the deliveries that Scholz has described it as the contribution of Germany to the modernization of the armed forces of Ukraine.
The previous official promise to supply Ukraine with weapons was made by the German chancellor in early June. In recent weeks, Ukrainian diplomats have repeatedly asked the federal government for larger quantities of heavy weapons.

Delays in deliveries
In April, Ukraine received offers from the arms concern Rheinmetall for 100 Marder infantry fighting vehicles and 88 Leopard 1 tanks, including ammunition and training, for a total of EUR 268 million.
