Concern Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo has announced that its subsidiary PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny received subsequent tranches of PLN 906.7m in total as compensation from the Price Difference Payment Fund, which is a result of the freezing blue fuel prices.
In the period from March 7, 2022 to September 29, 2022, PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny received a total of PLN 6.455bn in compensation
– the company announced in a stock exchange announcement.
Frozen gas prices
The Act on special solutions for the protection of gas fuel consumers excludes the possibility of increasing gas tariff rates in 2022. gas fuel prices will be frozen at the level of the tariff, the so-called ex officio sellers – PGNiG OD, set for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2022also expanded the list of entities entitled to use the tariffs.
The act also provides that gas sellers to customers covered by tariffs will be entitled to compensation paid from the Price Difference Payment Fund – the difference between the actual purchase price and the selling price according to the tariff. In the case of PGNiG OD, it is the difference between the list prices as of January 1, 2022 and its tariff.
