For Barcelona, bringing in a new central midfielder is one of the top priorities for the next summer transfer window. Neves, according to the club, would be the perfect successor to Sergio Busquets.
“Sport” claims that the Portuguese enjoyed considerable interest during the last transfer window. Liverpool and Manchester United have contacted the footballers’ representatives. However, the Portuguese representative did not want to start talks with any of these clubs.
Although Neves’s decision may seem surprising, the footballer made it keeping in mind what might happen in the summer of 2023. Signs of interest from Barcelona reached the Portuguese. Last summer, due to financial reasons, his move to Camp Nou was no longer possible. So he decided to wait a year to give himself a chance for his dream transfer.
Barcelona intends to apply for the 25-year-old. She is favored by the fact that the contract of the Portuguese midfielder is slowly coming to an end.
– Barca has already contacted Wolverhampton last summer. However, economic differences made the transfer impossible. Next summer, however, another rooster crows. Neves’ contract with Wolverhampton ends in mid-2024 – writes “Sport”.
The plan “B” for Barcelona is to be Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad San Sebastian. However, negotiations with the Basque club may be a problem. “Sport” describes its stance on selling footballers as “inflexible”.
