Farmers want ‘agricultural fuel’

Farmers from the Lower Silesian Chamber of Agriculture once again call for the introduction of the so-called. agricultural fuel. In their opinion, this would be one of the best aid measures for the industry.

The Management Board of the Lower Silesian Chamber of Agriculture referred to the draft regulation of the Council of Ministers on the refund rate of the excise tax included in the price of diesel oil used for agricultural production per one liter of oil in 2023.

The Lower Silesian local government is of the opinion that the above-mentioned the rate should not be lower than PLN 1.50 per liter of diesel, and justifies its assessment with galloping fuel prices and forecasts indicating that the situation will be even more dynamic.

– The Management Board of DIR requests the competent authorities to apply to the competent authorities to take all administrative and legal actions that will result in reducing fuel costs for farmers – he wrote in mid-December this year. to the Management Board of KRIR Ryszard Borys, president of DIR.

This is another such speech from the Lower Silesian agricultural self-government:

This time – as Ryszard Borys emphasizes – widely known situation on the fuel marketin particular the drastic increase in prices in the last year, but also in previous years, results in a significant increase in the farmer’s labor costs, which results in the economic unprofitability of running a farm without increasing the prices of sold agricultural products, and other products produced on the farm.

– A further effect of the above-described phenomenon may be further increases in food prices. Efforts made so far to alleviate the situation of consumers have not had positive effects for farmers – thinks Richard Boris.

According to the president of DIR, VAT reduction is not relevant for the farming environment, as farmers are entitled to a refund according to the regulations.

– In view of the above facts, the management board of DIR requests to take steps to reduce fuel costs for agricultural producers. The best solution will be the introduction of the so-called “agricultural fuel” – the head of the Lower Silesian agricultural self-government indicates in the letter.

According to Ryszard Borys, the suggested solution will be the simplest of the proposed ones, it will reduce unnecessary bureaucracy, and thus streamline the purchasing and settlement process.

– Due to the fact that a number of amendments to the regulations protecting enterprises against the negative effects of the global economic situation, commonly referred to as protective and anti-inflation shields, have already been passed, in the opinion of the DIR management board, it is reasonable to direct this type of aid – such as the introduction of “agricultural fuel” – also to farms agricultural – believes Ryszard Borys, president of the Lower Silesian Chamber of Agriculture.
