According to the Russian state news agency Ria Novosti, referring to the words of the self-proclaimed leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, Russia carried out an exchange of prisoners with Ukraine, using the formula “110 for 110”.

“Today there is an exchange according to the formula 110 for 110. We give Kiev mainly women. From the dungeons of the Ukrainian regime we will bring back 80 civilian sailors who were hostage. On Monday evening, the Ukrainian side confirmed this information. “Another large-scale exchange of prisoners of war was carried out today … we freed 108 women from captivity. It was the first completely female exchange” – wrote the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak on social media.

The last large-scale prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine took place at the end of September. At that time, the Ukrainian authorities announced that 215 Ukrainians and 55 Russians returned to their countries during the exchange of prisoners of war between Ukraine and Russia, including Vladimir Putin’s friend and oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk.

Mainly the defenders of Azovstal from the Azov regiment returned to Ukraine. Saudi Arabia and Turkey brokered the exchange.
