The Russian occupiers abduct minors aged 14-18 in the Lugansk region, and then give their relatives an ultimatum: either the captured teenagers or one of the men who look after them, e.g. their father or brother, said Serhiy Haydai authorities.
“The inhabitants of Lugansk report frequent cases of missing children aged 14-18. Minors are detained to establish their identity. However, this procedure does not take the usual 72 hours, but until the child is picked up by the father or brother. The (men) are (then) faced with a choice: either the child will go to the front or someone (from family members) instead“- wrote Hajdaj on Telegram.
“The Russians began to prepare children for participation in the war. On the 225th anniversary of the foundation of the village of Nowoderkuł, in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic, the oath was solemnly sworn in by new members of the Young Guard military-patriotic movement in the Biłodowo region. (Appointed) 30 school-age children“announced the governor.
As he added, the youth may later find themselves at war with Ukraine. “Were (these children) aware of the future consequences of what happened? Probably not. It is possible that their parents, especially mothers, understood it. Nevertheless, they let their children go there and humbly watched this deadly absurdity” – added the head of the regional administration .
In recent weeks, the authorities of the Lugansk region loyal to Kiev have reported that in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic, as well as in the territories of Luhansk Oblast occupied in spring and early summer, forced mobilization for the war with Ukraine is underway. All men up to 65 years of age are sent to fight, including miners who had previously enjoyed the status of a protected professional group and people with disabilities.
Since February 24, the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, there have been numerous reports of poor training, outdated equipment and very low morale of soldiers from the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republic, who usually go to the front lines and die there en masse.
