Discounters raise salaries. Comparison of rates in Biedronka and Lidl
Biedronka announced that from January 1, 2023 it will increase the salaries of employees of stores and distribution centers. It will spend PLN 600 million on increases. Depending on the experience of the employees, salaries will increase from PLN 500 to PLN 700 gross.
Next year’s increases mean that a novice salesperson-cashier will earn at least PLN 3,950 from 2023, but not more than PLN 4,300. Biedronka employees who have been employed for at least 3 years will earn between PLN 4,100 and PLN 4,550. Beginner managers can count on at least PLN 5,800.
The employees of Biedronka distribution centers will also receive an increase in salaries. A warehouse worker with the least seniority will be able to count on PLN 4,300-4,600 grossand the administrative and warehouse inspector at PLN 4,950-5,250 gross,” Biedronka indicated. Basic salaries may be increased by discretionary bonuses.
How does Lidl pay?
Lidl informed about next year’s increases at the beginning of November. From January 2023, employees of Lidl Polska stores will earn from PLN 4,200 gross to PLN 5,150 gross at the beginning of employment. After one year of work – PLN 4,400 gross to PLN 5,350 gross, and after two years of work experience – from PLN 4,600 gross to PLN 5,600 gross.
In the case of warehouse crew salaries, after the increases, it will range from PLN 4,800 gross to PLN 5,250 gross at the beginning of employment. After one year of employment, it will amount to – PLN 5,050 gross to PLN 5,500 gross, and after two years of employment, from PLN 5,300 gross to PLN 5,800 gross.
Store managers, on the other hand, can count on a salary of PLN 6,700 gross to PLN 7,000 gross when starting work in this position. After one year, the salary will increase to the level from PLN 7,000 gross to PLN 7,400 gross, and after 2 years it will be from PLN 7,800 gross to PLN 8,300 gross. Moreover, in Lidl Polska all store managers are entitled to a comfortable company car.
How noticed Rafał Hirsch in Business Insider Polskathe interesting thing is that in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Education and Science from August this year, minimum the rate of the basic salary of a novice teacher is PLN 3,424, and PLN 3,597 for an appointed teacher, which is clearly less than a cashier in Biedronka or Lidl.
