CIES created the forecasted Ekstraklasa table. Polish league recognized as the most unpredictable in Europe

The CIES soccer observatory has created season-end forecasts for individual European leagues, while awarding “stars” for the predictability of the competition in question. The results are extremely interesting for PKO BP Ekstraklasa.

The Polish league was the only one to receive only one star, which means that, according to experts, it is the most unpredictable league among the analyzed. Two stars went to the Romanian league. All other games have a minimum of three stars.

It is worth mentioning that 23 leagues from Europe were taken into account.

Experts from CIES give Raków Częstochowa the best chance for the Polish championship this season. Pogoń Szczecin was second, and Lech Poznań was third.

What is CIES guided by when it comes to its predictions?

The forecasts were based on a statistical model covering the results of the teams in the previous two seasons, the experience of current players and expenses on the transfer market – we read in the justification.

According to CIES analyzes, Manchester City will be the champion of England, followed by Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal.

The forecast for the Spanish league is also interesting. Real Madrid have the best chance of winning the championship, with Atletico Madrid placed second and Barcelona only third.
