Axioma became the first Russian superyacht to be auctioned in Europe. A total of 63 bids were submitted to the auction, but it has not yet been revealed who the winner is and how much he paid for the new purchase.
The superyacht was auctioned by the Gibraltar Admiralty Court in a closed bidding system, which were sent electronically by noon on Tuesday, explained court spokesman Nigel Hollyer.
The 72.5-meter yacht went under the hammer in favor of the American investment bank JP Morgan, which claims that the Russian oligarch owes him over $ 20 million. The bank has stated that it only wants to recover the money owed to it, while the remaining amount from the sale of the yacht will be disposed of in accordance with the decision of the court in Gibraltar.
