Anders Breivik, the perpetrator of the 2011 terrorist attack in Oslo and on the island of Utoya, has again filed a lawsuit against the Norwegian state, demanding a relaxation in isolation, his lawyer Oystein Storrvik said on Friday.
Anders Breivik believes that the isolation he has been in for 11 years violates human rights. The terrorist refers to Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which states that “no one may be subjected to torture or to inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment”.
The terrorist feels lonely
According to the lawyer, when Breivik was transferred from Skien prison to the Ringerike facility near Oslo in the spring of that year, he hoped to improve conditions of his stay.

“However, it did not happen. My client still has no contact with anyone other than prison officers, which is insufficient” – stressed Storrvik. At the same time, the lawyer admitted that Breivik was given more space at his disposal and the number of classes was increased.
Breivik filed a similar lawsuit against the Norwegian state in 2016, but the court found that his rights were not violated. In January this year. the terrorist demanded early release in court. That application was also rejected.
The attacks on the island of Utoya and in Oslo
On July 22, 2011, the Norwegian Anders Breivik detonated an explosive in the government district of Oslo, and then carried out the massacre on the island of Utoya, firing a rifle at participants of the Labor Party youth camp. A total of 77 people were killed. The Norwegian did not like the way in which the left-wing Labor Party exercised power.
It was the bloodiest attack in Norway since World War II. In 2012, Breivik was sentenced to 21 years in prison, with the possibility of extending his sentence indefinitely.
