According to “La Gazzetta dello Sport”, Chelsea will not be easy to make one of the planned, spectacular transfers. The Serie A star targeted by “The Blues” was valued at EUR 150 million.
Chelsea are planning a lot of activity at the end of the summer window. Londoners who previously acquired, among others Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella are now competing primarily for Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana. But it’s not the only transfer target of “The Blues”.
The club from England’s capital is also interested in Rafael Leao from Milan. The Portuguese is one of the leading Serie A players, with a large share in the “Rossoneri” Scudetto win last season.
Chelsea will not be easy to bring Leao to the Stamford Bridge, however, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. Milan is under no pressure to sell its star and estimates it at EUR 150 million.
At the moment, the Londoners have not yet made any offer, although they are in constant contact with Jorge Mendes, an agent of the Portuguese footballer.
Leao’s current contract with Milan expires in 2024. Negotiations on its extension are to begin at the end of September.
The 23-year-old Portuguese has been playing San Siro for three years. For Milan, he scored 27 goals and recorded 21 assists in 117 games.
